East Rutherford, NJ – Cambrex Corporation (NYSE: CBM, “Cambrex”) is pleased to announce that its Cambrex Charles City (Charles City, IA) facility has been recognized for exemplary efforts in improving its environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) by the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates’ (SOCMA).
Cambrex participates in SOCMA’s ChemStewards® program, which encourages companies to operate their facilities in an environment that guarantees safety and environmental compliance to all stakeholders.
Cambrex accepted a Bronze Performance Improvement Award at SOCMA’s 92nd Annual Dinner on December 9 in New York City. This is the 6th SOCMA EHS&S award for Cambrex Charles City. Jeff Ross, Director of EHS&S for Cambrex Charles City, accepted the award on behalf of the company at the awards dinner.
Cambrex Charles City was recognized for its successful efforts at actively furthering its commitment to EHS&S. Over the past several years, Cambrex Charles City has expanded on its EHS&S core programs by initiating several continuous improvement directives, including an employee training improvement program, a process hazard analysis program and an incident investigation program.
