East Rutherford, NJ – Cambrex Corporation (NYSE: CBM, “Cambrex”) announced today that Samantha M. Hanley has been promoted to the position of Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, reporting to Cambrex President & CEO, Steven M. Klosk. She succeeds William M. Haskel, who has decided to seek other opportunities outside of Cambrex. Mr. Haskel will remain with Cambrex through the end of February to ensure a smooth transition.
“Bill has been with Cambrex since June of 2011. In those three and a half years of service, the Company has enjoyed tremendous success and the Legal Department has strengthened significantly. I am grateful for his partnership and counsel,” said Mr. Klosk.
As General Counsel, Ms. Hanley will lead Cambrex’s legal function, overseeing commercial transactions, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, environmental, litigation, employment, corporate governance, SEC compliance, mergers and acquisitions and other legal matters.
“Samantha has over 12 years of broad international legal and corporate management experience. Her understanding of chemistry and experience in intellectual property and commercial contracts has served the Company well and has added tremendous value. In her new position as General Counsel, Samantha will have a key role as part of our management team to help guide our growth initiatives,” said Mr. Klosk.
Ms. Hanley formerly held the position of Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Cambrex. Previously, Ms. Hanley worked at Alpharma Pharmaceuticals as Director of Intellectual Property and was an Associate with Lerner, David, Littenberg, Krumholtz & Mentlik, LLP, an intellectual property law firm.
Ms. Hanley obtained her BA in Chemistry from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and received her JD from Brooklyn Law School in Brooklyn, New York.
